Martial arts sparring is most likely as ancient as martial arts itself. Martial generally is defined as associated with battle. Art is loosely pertains to a field. Combine them together we form the concept Martial Art. Martial Arts are generally thought of as a traditional form of Oriental self defense process employing physical movements and coordination including the use or not using weaponry, as taekwondo, aikido, ju jitsu,judo, bagua. Sparring is a widespread part of martial arts training. Most styles involve a type of sparring to perform a student’s proficiency in a more realistic environment. Getting ready for competition and real life self defense situations almost require that training with sparring be a piece of any serious study. Though some arts teach more deadly and more devastating techniques, almost all styles incorporate the use of sparring for instructing reasons.

Due to the fact that sparring is almost real fighting through the application of sometimes deadly martial arts styles while competing against a training partner, it is very dangerous. Improper use of sub-standard sparring equipment can bring about grave injury and even death.
