1.What you’ll need to do is sit on a chair with your feet spread enough to barely exceed your shoulder line. Keep your feet and legs pointing outward.

2.Pick up a dumbbell and hold it in between your legs. Bend down a little bit and try to keep your spine and back as straight as possible. With your arm resting on the inside of your thigh, keep the dumbbell held in a low position.

3.Next breath in deeply and tense your stomach. Now pull up, lifting the dumbbell, and when it is in position squeeze. Now let the dumbbell down, making sure the back of your arm stays connected to your thigh.  Repeat the whole process again.

These are mistakes to stay away from.

1.Try to stay away from using your knee for leverage. This will destroy any efficiency you may have had. So when you lift the dumbbell, make sure you use your elbow.

2.Another thing that you should avoid is swinging the dumbbell. When swinging, you don’t have control on the weight. Creating tension is important to manage the dumbbell weight.

3.Straighten your arm and back. When raising the dumbbell, some people tend to bend their arm too much, losing the effectiveness. There are many more methods of using the dumbbell to build your biceps. You will find different exercises for your biceps if you hire a trainer, join a fitness club or search the internet. Your level of experience, will affect which exercises you find that are right for you. Low weights and basic positions are recommended to begin with. If your workout sessions are too long it can become destructive to your body.
