They displayed the suggested search options which are based on the history of the user. The marketers also began optimizing their content in order to increase their online visibility.

Enlightenment Stage (2010 to 2012)

In this stage, high standard had been set in the creation of content. Stricter regulations on content and keyword quality impacted the search results. Google Plus was also born in this stage. Developers expanded Google Suggest and provided faster suggested results as the queries were being typed. There were also shared contents that created valuable engagement and backlinks that built credibility.

Modern Stage (2013 to present)

In the modern stage of the SEO trends, marketers’ focus has shifted towards mobile accessibility, relevant content, and local search. However, there are still websites which lack mobile optimization and end up losing their current standing in the Google search results page ranking (SERP). Personalization of content has also become dominant.
